Bart de Ruigh is a partner at Maes &
Lunau Executive Search. He has well over 25 years of
management, consultancy and boardroom experience in the
financial services sector. He is specialized in locating
suitable candidates for senior management positions, board
members and supervisory positions in this sector. Apart from
that he is also active in commercial services for senior
functions within the financial services sector. His specific
areas of expertise include operations, finance, risk
management, IT, human resources and programme management.
Throughout his professional career Bart has focused on the
design and implementation of strategy and programmes for
change in multinational companies in the financial services
sector. Before beginning at Maes & Lunau, from 2003 until
the end of 2007 Bart was COO and CFO, and a member of the
executive committee at Marsh, the worldwide insurance broker
and risk management advisor. In that capacity he managed
operational support functions and was responsible for
implementation of a large-scale corporate turnaround
programme in The Netherlands.
From 1997 to 2003 Bart was a partner at KPMG Consulting. In
that role he supported banks, insurance and investment firms
in often complex transformation processes in the area of
finance, operations and risk management.
Between 1991 and 1997 Bart was sent abroad by ABN AMRO and
MeesPierson and worked respectively in Japan, Indonesia and
England as a programme manager, COO and director of risk
management. Before this from 1983 to 1991, Bart was employed
by Bank Mees & Hope, where he began his career as a
management trainee, going on to fill various operational
management functions in Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
Bart studied geography at the Free University (Vrije
Universiteit) in Amsterdam and business administration at
the Interfaculty Business Administration (Bedrijfskunde) in
Delft, where he received his doctoral diploma in 1983.
Besides this, he studied business administration at Erasmus
University, Rotterdam and the University of Rochester in New
York. He was granted his MBA diploma in 1991. Finally Bart
has followed various international training courses, amongst
others at INSEAD.
Language proficiency: Dutch (native speaker), English
(fluent) and French (reasonably fluent).
